This is my TOEFL response in writing section.
If your parents decided to pay for you to travel a few weeks, would you prefer to visit places in your country that you have not seen or to travel in a foreign country? Why? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
I completely prefer to travel to a foreign country. Compared to visiting my own country Japan, traveling to a foreign country sounds more interesting to me. But I also admit that there are a lot of benefits to traveling Japan.
When I was a child, I had traveled to many cities in Japan. At that time, I had realized that I didn’t know a lot about Japan. Actually there are a number of historic cities in Japan. For instance, when I traveled a city, which is located next to my city, but I had not known about the city a lot. Which is why I need to visit many different cities in Japan.
However, traveling in a foreign country sounds more interesting, more exiting to me. To begin with, world is huge so I should travel in many foreign countries a lot. I think that I am the kind of person who is really interested in racial diversity. I mean, I want to meet many different races and learn how they think or what their opinion is. The second reason is that I also want to know different food, customs, weather and atmosphere. Finally, the more I know about foreign countries, the more I think that I should know more about Japan as a result.
In conclusion, if I had a chance to travel to foreign countries, I would visit as many different countries as possible. Then I will rethinking Japan.
